To start, you need to obtain an IP Address from Weebly to point your domain name to. This information can be obtained from your Weebly account settings. In order to get the IP Address you need, follow these steps:
Click Customize next to Site Address.
Select the Connect a domain you already own option.
Click Continue.
Under Option B: Make DNS Changes yourself, you will see a table of information A Record, Host, and Points to. This is the key information needed to point your domain name to your Weebly website. From here, you can submit a ticket to our technical support team asking them to complete the setup OR continue following this guide to complete the setup yourself.
The www. record already points to the root/primary domain, and there is no need to change it.
The www. record is an A record, so you will need to change it to the IP Address (address in Points to field) provided by Weebly into the Record field in cPanel.
Please note: These changes may take 4-8 hours to propagate (take effect).
If DNS Hosting is not set as the current configuration, click on the DNS Hosting tab and click Enable, then click Set DNS. Warning: If you have an existing DNS configuration that you don’t want to remove, you should not complete Step 6 and do not proceed.
Click Edit (pencil and paper icon) next to the record.
Change the IP Address in the Value field to the one provided by Weebly (address in Points to field).
